Boys & Girls & A Nice Pair of Heels

This production was created over a 6-day creative residency at Bishop’s Stortford College with Rough Fiction Learn & Train practitioners.

With help from Rough Fiction, The Lower 5th Company have thrown themselves headlong into the sometimes crazy and sometimes tender moments of their youth.

In just six days, we have created a brand new 30-minute piece of physical theatre. Girls & Boys & A Nice Pair of Heels is a fragmented exploration of gender, social politics and the challenges of finding your place in the world. We’ve been training, sweating, writing, talking and playing together; muscles are aching, our arms are slightly bigger and we’ve got too many blisters. We hope that this process will provide the cast with an invaluable grounding from which to begin their own devised pieces next year.

Expect explosive physicality, a stomping soundtrack and just maybe,  a little bit of cross dressing!
